Windscreen

Morning all!
Hopefully an easy one for someone to advise on......

My windscreen seems to have some form of film over it that i cant shift, ive used water with vinegar, glass cleaner - the usual. However it stays put - its like a silicon or diesel type covering that is far more visible in the dark and when lights shine on it. Makes driving interesting shall we say!

Any ideas on how to remove it? I've also cleaned the wipers and they seem ok theres not scraping or juddering from them either.

Confused

I find that a clay bar shifts just about everything and I then usually put some Rain X on.

+1 for clay bar, and you'll be able to do the entire car afterwards too.

I'm unsure as to what's in the washer bottle as I haven't added anything since I bought it from Land Rover.

Use some sort of solvent like brake cleaner on a rag, petrol will stink the vehicle up it will just be a silicone residue from somewhere Mine was a blue one! Smile

I always use T-Cut on my windscreen when I'm ready to Rainex my screen. It works perfectly. The film you describe on your car is probably from a wax wash, this is a particular problem if you've used one of these hand car wash places that have sprung up all over the place. The wax that they use is particulary difficult to shift but T-Cut will clean it off.
