I find that a clay bar shifts just about everything and I then usually put some Rain X on. |

Soak a rag in petrol give the screen a wipe and you should be ok. |

I'm unsure as to what's in the washer bottle as I haven't added anything since I bought it from Land Rover. |

Use some sort of solvent like brake cleaner on a rag, petrol will stink the vehicle up it will just be a silicone residue from somewhere Mine was a blue one! |

I always use T-Cut on my windscreen when I'm ready to Rainex my screen. It works perfectly. The film you describe on your car is probably from a wax wash, this is a particular problem if you've used one of these hand car wash places that have sprung up all over the place. The wax that they use is particulary difficult to shift but T-Cut will clean it off.
