Buying advice please

I have searched through the forums (and lurked for a few weeks) - lots of very useful info here !

I'm looking at a 05 facelift Vogue with high mileage (allegedly motorway) of 130k but a full service history - is this madness (there have been various threads about potential gearbox issues at higher mileages) ?

My theory is that it will already have had all of the recalls and services done (ex company car) - so it could be a sensible buy ...

So why not get a 05 facelift FSH with lower miles, 130k is a bit high for my liking ....... ====================================

"Open Mike Night " sounded like a lot of fun until i found out i was going to an Autopsy

Wow - fast response - thanks !

There did appear to be a "magic 100k miles" barrier that many people were unwilling to buy over - but I wasn't sure if this was based on gearboxes dropping off or not.

if its cheap and you don't do many miles, and you can afford to take the chance on costly repairs / or are good at DIY then buy it AT the right price. Otherwise get a fresher one - and it might pay to buy it through a specialist with dealer back up.

Sadly not through a specialist with any dealer backup.

A lot of the 05/55/06 facelift models seem to be around the £25k mark (far more from main stealers) with 50-80k miles on them. This is under £20k (hopefully just reflecting the mileage).

But my initial search was of course for something with 40-50k miles, one careful owner etc - so maybe I am shooting myself in the foot when the time comes to sell it (and the purchasers are put off by the mileage).

Decisions, decisions ....

I recently sold my immaculate Buckingham Blue/parchment 2005 (05) full facelift V8 Vogue with 50k mls for £21k and that took a while so you will find a private one with lower mileage for about £19-20K if you keep looking.
