Just started today - rear wiper goes 2/3rd of the way across the window and gets stuck. A little nudge and it carries on correctly. Did a search but can't find what may be causing it? Is this fixable or am I heading for a replacement part (2004 4.4v8 petrol). "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

most likely your wiper motor has failed at the spindle connecting to the wiper arm.I had the same symptoms on mine. The wiper arm had seized at the pivot point and the wiper would stick somewhere on its sweep but would continue if you pushed it with your hand.I ordered the parts and replaced both myself. Its an easy job and just do a search on here, theres plenty about it.

If you search for rear wash, you will find more info about the motor in some of the threads.

Its behaving itself today - will probably have a look at it when the weather improves. Thanks for the links. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Must remember to switch mine off, the back end was covered in snow and the rear wiper operated when I started the car, thankfully snow wasn't frozen, Phew! |

mr P. it is very easy to take the rear wiper mechanism apart. I had exactly the same symptos and it is the 2 arms that operate off the main plastic cog. They get gunk in between their connectors. Simply take apart, clean off, spray on some oil and put together. Mine worked fine after I did this and I was about to buy a new motor at over £120! |
