Urgent advice, help, recommendations please!

Right a bit of history, about 6 months ago I bought a used 2003 FFRR Vogue that had 22" Kahn Replica alloys fitted. The wheels look great but would not have been my choice, I bought the car because of the good condition of the car, not the wheels.

To cut a long story short I had been considering downsizing the wheels as I have started to dislike the ride plus coupled with the fact that I drive 60 miles a day in the Irish Countryside I just don't think they fit my usage.

However my hand has now been forced as yesterday evening I got caught in a "tank trap" and both the nearside alloys have buckled - ouch.

So I need some fairly hasty advice as the Range is out of commission until I get some new alloys. All and any thoughts are welcome...

Requirements:

1. Must be OEM Land Rover wheels
2. Must be suitable for on-road and some minor off-road use - and plenty of b-road (potholed roads)
3. 19"or 20"
4. With or without tyres (I can sort these separately)
5. Must ride well over long journeys
6. Must be very strong as I don't want to be doing this again in another 6 months!

Remember my requirements are function over look but would be interested in peoples thoughts on:

1. What size should I go for 19" or 20"
2. What are the proper tyre sizes for the above OEM wheel sizes (just so I can check an eBay adverts)
3. Do smaller size wheels make for a more comfy ride?
4. What style wheels do people thing look good at these sizes (ok I still do want them to look good!!)
5. Best places to source OEM wheels? (I am in Northern Ireland and ideally need them this coming week)

Please post photos if you think it would help...

Those are actually STYLE8 2010 OEM as I have them fitted on my TDV8 - Great Wheels:

Thanks guys,

Mick - the only thing putting me off the first link is that they are seconds - either an alloy blemish or a repaired puncture. Other than that - good choice, I like the alloy.

Gazellio - like the look of those wheels on - what is the ride like?

My only concern is this bit:

2002 Range Rover onwards (new style bolts required only)
*Fitment requires the following parts: -

You will need to purchase a spigot ring to reduce the centre bore from 72.6mm to 70.3mm and new bolts will also be required.

This should all cost approx £100, a relatively small price to get the latest Wheels on any Land Rover!


Is this just going to be more hassle?

Million times better than the 20" I took off the car. I changed for the improved ride (as RR was designed for) and the looks which I think are up to date and in proportion to the rest of the car.

Mick, pass - will go out and look shortly, all I know is that the guy I bought my car off said that he had to change to a different bolt for the 22" wheels so I have a set of original bolts in a bag in the boot. Hopefully the newer bolts he had to get would be the same as those required for those 2010 Vogue wheels...

What about the spigot ring - is that not required for fitment on an L322?

My Wheels were a direct fit no problem even with my Brembo's!

Reading the guys advert again, he does clearly say that for a L322 you just need newer bolts...

Gazellio, Mick did you need new bolts? and Mick I take it as you are asking the colour you know which ones are which?

My currently fitted bolts are silver the old ones in the bag in the boot are black.

So the conclusion is that I have the newer bolts and could get these with nothing extra required?

I have a 2007 TDV8 as you have seen. I just used the existing bolts from the existing 20" wheels. Not sure about pre-facelift cars but am pretty sure they are the same. You already have new style bolts or should have...

These wheels will fit the following Land Rover Vehicles;

Range Rover Sport
Vogue
P38 Range Rover*
Series II Discovery*
2002 Range Rover onwards (new style bolts required only)
