Estonia 2005 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zambezi Silver
Adaptive Lights Failed

Hi all,

Be gentle with me as I am new to this forum Embarassed

Ok, here is the beef:

I purchased a 2005 4.2 V8 Supercharged RR just before Xmas, and generally everything is/was fine, however had to take it to the garage to have them sort out an HDC Fault - for which they told me they had performed a system update.

Now, ever since that visit, by adaptive headlights havent worked, no cornering lights, headlights are dipped very low, no dance on turning the ignition on etc.

I am being told that the AFS module has failed and it is not covered by their used sales warranty and want just shy of 500 euros to fix it, however I am more than a little dubious on this.

Would everything fail at once? Is there anything I can check myself? How easy would it be to fix this myself?

Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

First of all, you need to find out what the law is in your country regards a car dealer selling to a private buyer - regardless of what they say is or is not covered by a warranty.

For example, in Britain, unless a car is ridiculously cheap (under £2000 or so) any faults that occur within the first 6 months are assumed to have been present when you bought the car, and the dealer is responsible for either taking the car back and refunding you in full, or for fixing the problem.
