Stan,

I couldn't drive the car in D(rive), only in manual tiptronic mode. That way I could select my shift points to not have transmission faults and shifting with a "bang"(actually not shifting but "banging" back into the previous gear).

Also going from neutral to drive or reverse was slow and with a jolt, not the smooth and quick engaging you'd expect from a ZF 6 speed.

RRPhil was a great help in looking for the cause (it was quite illusive) and acting as advisor and idea bouncer.

So I'm one happy bunny today (also got some good news related my job here, so couldn't be better Smile ).

Instead of hoping to see light at the end of the tunnel, I am grabbing my sunglasses as it seems I'll be driving into the bright light again very soon Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I hope to find some paint this weekend. I first need to look if our local hardware shop has any and otherwise I need to go to Game (South African chain that has a big shop in the famous Palms Shopping Centre in Lagos).

That's the biggest problem in Lagos, a lot of things are just hard to find here. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Reset of adaption values done, adaptive drive cycle done and it is very smooth now. I will be driving it the next few days and expect it to improve even more as some of the gear changes can be felt if only just Smile Or am I starting to nitpick now Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Great news! Very Happy That's taken a long time and especially onerous when you can't get supplies and skilled help in-country. Congratulations! Now you can get out enjoying you FFRR again. Thumbs Up

And enjoying it, I am !!!! Now I just have to do the final bits, new tail light (crack in the outer clear cover), new bumper (holes due to the ugly bull bar that I had removed) and holes in the bumper (due to same bull bar).

I also plan to do a tiny cosmetic change to the otherwise original car, "stanify" the SC badge.

I also need to get the halo's working and hook up the DVD player (RSE) to the front screen (US models are missing the physical cable for that, Ajay got one for me ages ago but I haven't put it in yet).

And I'm waiting for my dashcam to arrive as well.

All small stuff and not important, the gearbox was my major long term issue and I'm very happy it got resolved. It makes driving so much nicer now Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Finally had the filter and ATF replaced and did a few good drives. The very small clunks in 2 gears are now all but gone. The box is definitely fixed and I hope I will enjoy many many trouble free km's from now on Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
