Ive noticed a rattle when ever i drive over a bump/pothole, it sounds like a heat shield rattling.

Just crawled unter the car and i cant see anything amiss, just wondered if it was a common problem.

Its a 53 plate with 98000 Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty,nothing else matters.

Dust shield behind the brake disks ?

Mine had rusted through where it bolts on, and rattled when I first got it........ 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Just checked and as youve suggested, the N/S is loose, i take its a disc off job to replace, are they easy to obtain.

The garage where I bought the car from did mine. They just had it spot welded back, and its still fine 18 months later.

Otherwise its a disc off job, perhaps may be the hub also ?

Don't think they are expensive. Just a pain to swap.

I'd attempt to refasten it on or such like first.

In saying that, I think some have bought new ones, and cut them to slide them round the hub without any stripdown...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

its a common problem which has been mentioned before...cant remember the exact solution but if you do a search i'm sure you'll find the threads.. ... - .- -.

undo the two little bolts that hold the cover on then slip a big washer in there, fiddly but it works.  03 4.4 V8 petrol / lpg. 1st of many hopefully. I love my Rangie

Or if they are too corroded, cut them off and buy new ones. Cutting a small section out if your new shields means they can be fitted without removing brake calliper and disc, just make sure you treat the bare metal edge with paint before fitting. See dan @ duckworth for a price, they are only a few quid.
