2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

I'm in the same boat! Stil haven't got mine back! There where two leaks. One from the rear differential another from the gear box sump. They are struggling with the removal of the rear differential as some of the nuts have totally seized up.

In summary 3 days without a fix. Courtesy car is however a brand new freelander. It's pretty decent to be fair but not my FFRR.

All good news then Trev Smile

Crooked i guess most dealers aren't as mechanical as they used to be as a seized nut shouldn't take too long to remove...

they should try a Citroen C5 Rear sphere that is 11years old.... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
Mantec Sump Guard, Rigid Load liner, MY10 BT upgrade.

That's because Citroen uses rust instead of Loctite to secure nuts and bolts Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Dont be silly, JLR would never waste such money on loctite unless it was from lidl Wink

Citroen using rust... I wish! they use Metallic bonding due to age Sad

Sorry to hear that Trev. My final bill was £552 + 179 (they wanted 770 negotiated an hour labour plus the part). It was the rear differential. Plus the gear box sump. Maybe worth checking those Sad

Final Update

Nearly had the FF for a month now.. its still the best car I have ever owned.. Mr. Green

Wasn't happy with some of the answers the dealer was telling me so

I decided to have an "independent" check it over.. for a general condition check and possible warranty issues and for £95.00 the following was identified.

** Full diagnostic check (remove all of the past faults and identify if any recent ones needed attention) All cleared as no issues found
** Outer CV Boots clips insecure. Big Cry
** Wiring LHF headlamp is un-insulated
** Various Suspension rubbers are starting to show signs of age, but not considered excessive.
** Rear Brake pipes are showing signs of corrosion and may need renewing in the near future.
** Rear Wheel arches showing signs of rust (Quote of £45.00 to sort)
** Under body would benefit from a steam clean and wax

Not bad for a car that is nearly 8 years old.

Been in the garage again today....to have the 2 front CV boots sorted, they where leaking grease onto the inside of the wheels.

A bit of tape for the wiring - The others I will do later on when required

Had a top of the range Mazda 6 has a courtesy car this time.. Laughing

I consider I have got myself a very clean and technically sound FFRR which will hopefully be fault free going forward... If not still got 11 months warranty Thumbs Up

Silver FFRR Vogue SE 55 plate. with full service history and 56k

Once again thanks to the forum and Will for all the help and advise I gained before and after the purchase..

Trev

In days of olde we used to say that a Land Rover only stopped leaking when there was no oil left Shocked Rolling with laughter The reason women's minds are cleaner than a mans mind is that women change their minds more often!
When women say fine a mans in deep doodoo as fine has so many meanings.
