Hi Stan. Yes I've seen that and used it to replace the glass on my nearside light but this time I'm looking at the offside headlight and as it states in the video, the offside is much harder...especially when the difficult to get at bolt is seized.....joy ! |

If you turn it hard enough it should break the much weaker bolt fixing below. Simple replace with another suitable nut and bolt. Support the plastic mounting point though otherwise this may snap off. See here http://www.fullfatrr.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=466 .

Thanks for everyone's advice. After soaking in penetrating fluid overnight, the bolt came out with the use of a 1/4 inch socket set with seemed to grip the bolt (8mm head) much better than my 1/2 inch socket set.

Was in that area the other day to remove headlight. The same bolt that gave you trouble snapped clean off as soon as I put my socket on it and attempted to turn it. A lot quicker than soaking with penetrating oil ! |

As long as you've got some of the captive nuts to replace it....
