i had a thread re this a while back and the only viable suggestion was to get a near field video/audio sender and hook up a freeview box or dvd to it...there were loads of these senders about ten years ago before the 'proper' 2.4ghz and 5ghz senders come onto the scene..

I had the same thought about mine which is sat in a drawer . I think that the USA is still converting over to digital (on the back of a program I watched on the TV a few weeks ago) and so that may be a possible market to sell it to via ebay etc if someone out there needs a replacement for a failed analogue unit. I was keeping mine in case my digital one failed and so, if selling the car, I could at least plug the old one back in (even though it would not be of real use) to make the car 'complete' again. Maybe a forum member from the USA could comment on their current digital coverage. Steve

Ah right, my old analogue (and my replacement hybrid tuner) give me the option of selecting pages and pages of countries (including USA) and the format - PAL , SECAM NTSC etc of which there are several versions of each. So, is the software that generates these menu options just a default install for all RRs and then they just put in the relevant tuner/receiver for your county and then just setup the 'TV' options for that country so the tuner works?
