Has anyone ever removed one at all?

I though there were two largish circular access holes on top of the tank? The holes on the SC tank certainly look bigger than the ones below....

I know its fiddly but my Indy replaces the pump with the tank in situ.... |

Well I've got it all out, cleaned some of it up and cleaned the filter part out (pics to follow) and the motor tests ok! Which is really really annoying!
