United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black
Stratstone Solihull: AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I bought my TDV8 Vogue SE from this dealer and have had the misfortune of having to take it back to them for the following reasons:

1. The car was supplied with mismatching Range Rover Sport size tyres. These were eventually replaced after some arguments.
2. When they refitted the tyres the tyre monkey trashed all 4 alloys, and I mean REALLY badly. They thought I might not notice....
3. In the process they managed to break the TPMS system, and to this day is still not working.
4.The rear of the headlining had come loose, they tried to fix it with glue instead of doing it properly. In the process they left black fingerprints all over the headlining and post covers.
5. Every time they had the car it comes back with oily hand marks all over the steering wheel, cubby box, indicators etc etc. Its never been cleaned off first.
6. It has gone in for a replacement headlining as the current one cannot be fixed and is dirty beyond repair or cleaning ability. They ordered the WRONG one and now I am waiting for a back order replacement whilst driving round in a FL2 GS.

I am sure this will not be the end of it so I shall add more as they happen.

Dear Land Rover,

If you are reading this, please take note of what a complete and utter diabolical shambles this Dealership is. Their so called Technicians seem incapable of doign the most basic tasks without making more work and damage. Trying to speak to the Service Manager is like trying to get through to the Queen.

Customer Service is shocking, the service desk chap speaks to you as if you are robbing him of time with his dying child, his tone is dreadful.

In short, they seem only capable of selling a car but have no ability to fix, repair or help the customer afterwards. Isn't it strange how I have never had a feedback request form for this dealership? Discovery 4 HSE

I settled for having the alloys refurbished. They look fine now, but they were done by Stratstone Nottingham as they are nearer and I know them.

They are looking after a couple of other warranty items, shame they couldn't have done the headlining. Evil or Very Mad Discovery 4 HSE

I also had a horror tale from Stratstone Solihull - so there is no barge pole long enough for me....

My 2002 L322 broke down while on a trip to Brum in 2009. Gear failure - no drive. Recovered to Stratstone Solihull as was staying with a friend on Knowle. They had the car a week before they diagnosed that the oil cooler was blocked and so rusty it needed replacing. They thought that the resulting overheat may well have fried the gearbox and if so that would be another £4500 on top of the £1000 cooler fix. Sadly for them I had had the cooler replaced by Matfords in Exeter just a couple of months before and was amazed that such deterioration could have taken place so quickly. Either they were lying or Matfords didn't do what they'd billed me for. I got Matfords to speak to them direct. Stratstones diagnosis was suddenly revised to a leaking oil cooler pipe (£30 part but still a £300 bill) and the car was eventually ready 3 weeks after the breadown. I did another 1000 miles or so, but it later turned out that that breakdown had fubarred the box. However, Matfords were able to supply and fit a replacement box for £1800 all in, some way off the £4500 suggested by Stratstones. In this case Stratstones were caught out in a blatant lie and some outrageous profiteering. No reason why that would have been an isolated incident - you have been warned! Mike - MPx

I bought mine from Stratstone in Stockton and to be fair, I have nothing but praise for the sales and service team there.
I've found them polite and helpful on the couple of occasions I've visited. I hope that I don't have to visit too often but do feel like I would receive good customer service if I needed too.
Had it, loved it!

Any issues with Stratstone at Solihull then please let me know. Dealer principal and Service Manager are both personal friends of mine.

I have mobile numbers and email addresses for both of them should the need ever arise. Thoroughly decent blokes too!

Dom.

I have had a shocking experience with LR Solihull. My car was supplied without any service books or manual. This has left me with a car of much reduced value. The dealership keep promising the paperwork but nothing. Any chance you could get me in touch with the dealer principle. I'm on 07774136723

Thanks Craig
