Audi sat nav

Hi Guys,

I'm driving an A6 at the moment, due to driving heavy business miles, hence wanting fuel economy.

I know of couple of you have had Audi's, and was wondering if you could give some advice, mine is a 2008 car, the sat nave however seems to be pre-historic and only takes 5 digits of postcodes, and doesn't recognise where I live as existing!

What do I do, just get new maps off e-bay?

Also, it is supposed 'tele prep'ed, but not sure what this means apart from a couple of buttons, any advice for getting iphone fully integrated?

Cheers,

I've had a few Audis. My current one (2011) has really good in-car Nav but the others (including a very costly S4) were as you describe...

It sounds like the RNS-E or a derivative. They only had 5 digit postcodes, appalling. BMW and Merc the same. You can't upgrade it AFAIK.

The best solution is a new double DIN head unit. Pioneer do some cracking ones.

Considering the crazy prices vehicle manufacturers charge for their sat-nav systems, they should be forced to support them (software & maps) for as long as they are required to stock parts. Evil or Very Mad
