Concrete prices

Just been quoted £80/m3 for concrete delivered for my new garage base... Need 5m3. Is that a good price? Previously..

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Orkney Grey

about 3 yrs ago i built a garage and dug out a roughly 9.2 by 3.6m 'raft' hole. i shuttered and filled it with 6 cubic metres of concrete. it was around 12 inches deep round the edge and about 6 in the middle with rebar standing on old bricks. i paid about £700 readymix delivered (london concrete invoiced). i had it pumped through to my rear garden for another £250 (this was cash job) it was all down in 25 minutes, the pump guy helped to drag and tamp it, and they were gone in another 1/2 hr. i had considered doing it in wheelbarrows, or mixing myself as i go. but it would have killed us. -london concrete wouldn't even do this method!
i was £1k down, but not a bead of sweat! luckily everything went perfect, apart from the clean out of the concrete pump.... they put in an oversize foam ball to push down the pipe to clean it with water pressure. it came out with such force it went through our fence and splatted the next fence with concrete!
i had previously had the pump guy round to rekky the job and he sussed the amount perfect.
too much and i would have had to have it anyway! hope this helps

^ Brilliant.. That's what I was looking for. I will be paying £80/m3 cash, so I am now happy with that. Cheers folks. Previously..

£80 per m3 is about the right price. remember though that if u just need 5 m3, the smallest lorry carries 6 m3 so there will be a part load charge. ie you still get charged for the m3 that's not on the lorry. around £30 or £40ish I think. if its the mix as you lay then you only get charged what you use but this tends to cost more per m3. '04 td6 se
