Main Dealers, Warranty & Loyalty

These things can be argued both ways.

However, this morning my wife couldn't start the car which was facing the wrong way to jump start in our garage/ all systems shut down.

This 'fault' was recently mentioned to MD when in for a fair bit of maint work and they trickle charged but otherwise found no fault.

Anyway, having reported it to LR Assist & to the MD this morning, they could not be more prompt and helpful in arranging to send a tech to the house later this morning to diagnose and replace the battery (if that's what it is) ...

I don't know how much buying a battery from LR MD would cost but would imagine they're not cheap.

It's service like that which - for some - makes the MD draw more attractive...

Ps.. Due to all of the issues we've had to date (mostly due to the prep/after sales behaviour of the selling MD to be fair) my wife thinks this, her car, is 'a pile of' and 'unreliable'. Get out of that one! Whistle

Or to look at it another way, you've had a load of things fixed that won't need doing again for some time.

So it may need a new battery. A new Bosch isn't much more than £100 if you had to buy one yourself. Si. <This is my name.

I think the general case with second hand cars is that you will inherit a bunch of little niggles, which once ironed out shouldnt reoccur for a while.

It was the same with mine, a few of small things not working properly and a couple of clangers, to be fair to our MD the service has been great, far from that of the supplying dealer. And she hasnt wanted for anything for 6 months now (touch wood). There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Agreed. You can inherit niggles on brand new cars too...

The attending 'LR Assist' Tech said that the sidelights had been left on (vehicle driver - not me - not accepting that one).

MD has agreed to replace battery as a matter of 'good practice' given this is 4th time car has not started.

Can't say fairer than that!
