Td6 crankcase breather filter

Hi Folks, just getting the kit together to service my 2005 td6. I replaced the crankcase breather filter, spool and gaskets the last time and noticed an immediate improvement in the performance of the car. Simple enough and worthwhile job. Going to replace it again this time, just wondering, if there was a replacement/substitute part introduced for this part or or we still stuck with the "spool of thread type" that turns into a block of tar over time.

Regards Ed 0-60 takes 5 and a half seconds...and about 17 gallons of fuel....

2005 Subaru Legacy Outback (the wife's)

I would change it for Vaico crankcase breather vortex style oil separator for M57 and M57N BMW engines.

Direct replacement for the following BMW part numbers: 11127793163 (old round filter), 11127799225 (new vortex filter)

Its not listed specific to the TD6 but it fits and once fitted never needs replacing
