United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Oslo Blue
04 vogue, what grilles and vents shall I buy, opinions

Hi guys,

I've had my 04 vogue for 4 days now and I love the thing. It's my first RR and I'm fed up with stock appearance.

I want to buy a front grill and side vents but which grill shall I go for.

I don't want a facelift grill, just the square type.

As for side vents, I want to colour code them and have the mesh silver. The car is Oslo blue.
I don't know wether to go for the no slatted supercharged vents which I can get for Ģ65 from powerful and get them painted or do I go for the later style vents with the 3 slats and paint those? Or not go for supercharge ones all together.

As for grills, powerful do a nice grey rim and silver mesh supercharge one. Which I quite fancy.

Basically RR's are new to me and I don't know what makes and what spoils their looks all I know Is chrome everywhere isn't what I'm after. I don't want to spoil my car if people's feelings are "why put later model grilles on an old car etc Etc" if and when I come to sell it I would like prospective buyers to appreciate my changes rather than think its some stuff is wrong and different dated parts etc.

I know each car is the owner's canvas and I can do what I like but I want the general opinion on the aftermarket stuff and what's a no no in the RR owners world.

Hope you can help. Thanks in advance

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover SE Td6 Zermatt Silver

In my opinion

2002-2005 Non facelift cars look better with standard grill and twin or triple factory vents. Cheaper option too

2005-2009 Facelift cars look better with silver supercharged grille & Vents

2010+ Facelift cars look better with coded triple finger vents and titanium grille with black surround.

Very Happy Thumbs Up

I have a 2002 vogue and picked a second hand pair of supercharged side grills from a well known Internet auction site and a square supercharged grill for the front.
Both are silver and grey and suit my giverney green car perfectly.
I known the purist don't like non oem parts being fitted but hey ho it's my car and I like it.
I have kept the originals for when I come to sell.
Go with what you like till you decide to do a face lift

Little worse than a tarted-up car - an original 2004 car would be infinitely more desirable to me than some "facelifted" embarrassment covered in eBay tat.

But I suspect I'm in the minority.

Thumbs Up

I agree... and i donīt mind be called by purist!

My favorite FF look is the early models, the latest models with the modern grills and side vents approach to the RRS look that i donīt like even in the L405 the only thing i donīt like is the front grill!

The early models like in the fullfatrr logo, for me is the one! It is the model that the lines are closer to the RR CLASSIC!

The twin or triple factory vents are just awesome! They look like a shark! I love them since 2002 Very Happy and i still love them on the L405... i hate the vents on RRS new or older!

Like your subject thread, it's opinions, taste and RR culture and history! Smile Ex-FULLFATTY now downgraded

Well, mine is completely original to look at.

If I had a choice, I prefer the triple finger ones where the mesh is grey but the rest is colour coded.

I also don't mind the supercharged ones, again, where the mesh is left untouched, and the surround colour coded.

Chrome ones don't appeal.

Grille wise, stick with a rectangular one, or the wipers will not fit right.

Colour coded, with mesh etc as it comes....grey/silver, to match vents.

Just my 2p.
