My wife's best friend once decided to put some water in the washer bottle - fortunately in a petrol station.

Mid way through the procedure, an elderly gentleman approached her ans advised her not to attempt to start the car - so she called her husband.

She was basically pouring water into the engine..........

2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

I knew a woman whose mini wouldn't start. She thought maybe the oil needed topping up so that's what she did, but it still wouldn't start.

She called the AA who told her someone had levered open her bonnet and nicked her battery and spare wheel.

Later I asked her if she'd got it sorted and she said she'd been down the tyre place for a new spare but she didn't have the metal bit in the middle.

'You mean the wheel?'

'Yes, that's it.'
