Meguiars G220 V2 DA Polisher......any good ?

Am perhaps tempted to purchase one of these ;

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...yId_165640

Though not necessarily from the above shop.

Are they any good ?

With the 2 extra pads that seem to be required, it'd cost the thick end of £200, without any polish / wax.

I read a thread on here about a DAS 6 polisher E4 GUY bought,

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic19018....a+polisher

and there was talk of compounds and all sorts of voodoo !

My paint is pretty good, clayed not so long ago, but thought I'd get a better finish easier with said machine.

Am I right in understanding there is a pad used for putting polish/wax on, and a different type of one for taking off ?

I'd be interested in your thoughts please.

Thanks

Bought loads of gear with the intent of using it on our XK (very soft paint) ,but then sold the car (together with the E-Class) to get the RR so never got to use any of the polishes, the machine etc. etc.

However, there is a very good write up (in pdf form) on Detailing World on using dual action polishers etc - I've lost the link I'm afraid, I just kept the pdf.

Also check out Youtube - plenty of manufacturer videos (Mequiars for example) on there 2012 FFRR Westminster Orkney / Ivory and absolutely no pimp-glass!

Thanks gents, bit of a quandary now. I recon the meguiars da is a better machine, but the das unit with everything I need included is way cheaper......

Thanks for the pdf link. Have downloaded it. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Give Rich at Polished Bliss a call. He sells the Kestrel and will tailor pads and compounds to a FF's paint hardness. Si. <This is my name.

I've got a DA6 and I'm very pleased with it. I bought the meguires pads and compounds and they have worked very well together. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]
