My Range Rover burnt to a crisp!

The unthinkable happened with no warning and no explanation! Has this happened to anyone else? What will Range Rover do about it?

Presumably you meant to add the picture - there seems to be a lot of debris on the road in front of the car - what is all that ?

I doubt JLR will do anything as it's unlikely a manufacturing defect, but would be interesting to see if a cause can be identified.

Has it had any work done on it recently ?

I'm not a detective, but I think it may have suffered from a fuel leak 🤔😂😂😂

Hopefully no one was injured and your insurance company will look after you.

I’m sure many assumptions can be made but the vehicle had no errors at the time of the incident. Smoke began emanating from the ac vents, parked to check it out, doors wouldn’t open, luckily windows were down and was the only way to open the doors, checked on under the hood and a fire had started. Debris you see is of multiple deployed fire extinguishers and road debris as well. Really mind boggling. But yes, insured thankfully.

Glad you’re safe.

What year was the car?

I had this happen to a 4.6 Range Rover P38 on the M6.

I managed to get the bonnet open after the car cut out and I saw smoke and saw that it was the under bonnet fuse box that was engulfed in flames. Sad

Was annoying as I'd done everything to it to make it immaculate.

If I can offer you one piece of advice it would be not to dwell on holding JLR responsible. The car was 10 years old and you've got insurance, it's really not worth getting hung up on it. Just go and buy another one and enjoy it Very Happy
