Heated steering wheel problems

2003 L322 Range Rover Vogue.
Seen many people ask about this problem, switching on steering wheel heater red light only stays on for one or two seconds'.... OK remedy has always been to change steering wheel, I have done this and still the fault continues.
I have had both the old & new steering wheel tested and the heating elements in bothy are said to be 'fine', so ruling out the Steering wheel itself as being the problem.
12v supply appears to be OK as well.

Any ideas, could it be the ECU itself or the relay? A seperate relay is advertised here but I cannot track down the ECU for replacement!!
Reference on ECU is TRW61278000B, it looks fine but then how do you check it?

Any help or pointers here greatly appreciated. Confused

OK so no replies !!! Nobody else with the same problem?
I have tracked down a replacement ECU which will hopefully be delivered this week, I have also purchased a new relay. I cannot see it being anything else?
I will post when these items have been fitted.
Fingers crossed.

There's a small ecu / control box in the lower half of the steering wheel tray. You must have unplugged it to change the wheel... That will be at fault for sure... Thumbs Up

Remove the airbag and it is the small box with wires at the bottom of your steering wheel tray Thumbs Up

Sorry not the fault everything fully plugged in. All connections also checked by an Indi RR mechanic he wonders if there is an ECU patch required? He says he has asked but keeps coming up blank!!

Him Yes I changed the ECU itself, non-repairable, and everything is now fine. The ECU is no longer made you will need to find a second hand one. I had to buy with the steering wheel from a scrapyard, they refused to split. Very Happy
