Can't they tell the difference!

I'm currently scouring the ads looking for a FFRR. I'm still a tiny bit undecided but probably aiming for a 2006/7 supercharged.

As I look through the adverts, it's shocking how many of the magazines don't seem to know the difference between a FFRR and a RRS. Autotrader or ebay for example, both have about 40 sports come up when you search using Their search engine. It's really starting to p*ss me off. I've got quite exacting standards with the car I want and am worried i'll miss something thats been mis-listed.

I know if it was me that had paid £70 for an advert i'd expect it to appear in the correct list!!! Evil or Very Mad

Anyway..... rant over.[/b]

may be its to target them people who are not sure what they want, if i was selling my RRFF, i would want as many people to see it as poss..may be someone who is looking for a RRS might see my one and change there mind.. but i know what your saying as when i was looking for my car the same was happening, on ebay you would type in range rover and get...RANGE ROVER NOT SHOGUN,Q7 OR X5 same thing here..widens the serch... V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Maybe it's not the mags who don't know the difference. It's the owners themselves.

Usually it's the owner who fills all the items required in the site, then the search engine only puts out what it finds based on the database.

Just as an example i've found in these kind of sites people calling their cars ''Road star'' instead of roadster.... Laughing
Another, here, SUV's are named ''jipe'' which is a rough translation of the Jeep brand. And as such you cand find in the ads, when they're ordered alphabetically ''jipe land rover defender'' or just ''jipe defender''...

So you're rather stuck, you have browse each ad to find what you want...

There was a nice RR SC on ebay, but when I looked closely it was a RRS.
The seller had cleverly called it a Range Rover in the title and a few times in the listing. But from the pictures it was definately a sport.

I guess they hope someone will compare it to a real Range Rover and think it's cheap, so buy it without knowing the difference.

Try talking to dealers... Most of them have no no idea that there are two 4.4 engines (BMW and Jaguar).

Beggars belief. Java with Ivory 2006 4.2 Supercharged. 23.5k miles - NOW SOLD!

Wow, really??? Whistle Whistle just kidding....

I think the vast majority of them (I would guess 99%) don't even know the difference between a tdv6 and a td6.

Hell, there are some guys here who also don't know that difference. Some still think that when the 2nd 4.4 was introduced, so was also the tdv6 instead of the td6.....
