Looking to get a towbar fitted to mine very soon. Anyone know / recommend anywhere in the north west ?

Thanks. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Its a pretty straigtforward job, and most fitters should be able to do it,

There is loads on here about it, but in general make sure you get the westfalia stuff, with the plug and play electrics.

I got gen lr wiring and it just plugs in. Have a search as there is loads on the subject and the various options There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

As above its quite simple Smile

I'd set a day aside for it if you havent taken a bumper off a car before but the metal bits can be got from PF jones in manchester, and the electric bits from Dan Smile

You may find you have the control module already in so best to check as thats about £50 i think alone Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Ok....I am no mechanic, but no dummy either....

I can order and collect the westfalia + correct 13 pin cable (assume plug and play so no messing with elecs) for about £460 and collect whenever it's in...

Is this good, seems bit steep to me in fairness hence me asking about a fitter. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

On the pf site it looks to be about £413 for the kit and electrics so not too bad unless you find a used kit of course. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

LR played the usual "you need a special bracket so its best we fit it"....

PF's fitted one to my A8 and it was superb tidy and well priced. Prefer a new bar as then know that it's done nothing, elecs seem £80 ish so will keep an eye out for LR used one on fleabay etc Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I think the PF one includes the electrics but the westfalia on they sell is the exact one LR fit anyway Wink just without the extra 0 on the price tag Smile

I have a towtrust one fitted on mine and it sticks out a bit at the back when the towball part is on but is neat enough when its removed. I did purchase the genuine LR 12S/N and ecu and fit the lot myself though and it was about £200all in Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Well so far my plan is two fold;

1. Contact local firm Norcott Trailers and Towbars, they are TT agent and have done work for me in past, hand all to them and let them get on with it
2. Save a few quid and order Westy and LR plug n play 13 pin from PF Jones, fit myself and providing I don't stuff anything up it should be sub £500

Just one thing, parking sensors.....and general bumper removal...any tips ? Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Well if you get stuck or need a hand with option 2 let me know as the hardest part is being careful with the bumper Smile

The Pdc rear sensors will turn off when a trailer ha hitched up but it needs to be turned on in the ecu and only takes a few minutes by someone with the diagnostic kit.

My piece of advice is do it when it's as warm as possible and pour very warm water round the top of the bumper to soften the plastic of it, stops any lugs and such breaking as easy Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
