What mirrors do you use

I have Milenco grand aero's and they have a straight arm bar to mount. The FF has a curved mirror housing so before I stick them in a pipe bender has anyone else experienced this ?

What mirrors do you use ? Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Halfords do some about £8 each that have elastic hook type straps and Ive used them without issue. I prefer them as i don't like to 'screw clamp' them to the car mirrors. I found them in store as they're not on their web site 2007 3.0L Diesel VW Touareg SE

I also use the aero's good mirrors just put up with the curve in the ffrr mirror and they seem to work well but I like the idea of using a pipe bender to get them to fit better Bow down
Cheers roger

It's a legal requirement. Pipe bender done and mirrors will be fine. Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Yes definite requirement even for a full fat.

I think mine are pyramid ones, the fit nicely to the mirror housing with both a screw clamp
And straps. V solid and stable not too much vibration. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Shocked Oops - didn't know that - I don't usually bother - I find them distracting - even thre Milenco Aeros still seemed to vibrate.

My Milencos are in the garage at home, so i'll be driving home without any, but feeling more guilty this time.....

Seems to be a width thing with the mirrors rather than towing - so I might just be OK - I'm towing a Jeep on a trailer and that's no wider than the FFRR Thumbs Up

the law says "clear vision down each side of the towed trailer/caravan" or words to that effect. My caravan is 2.3m and thats wider than the mirrors...I like them too as they give me an idea when a lorry is heading up the middle lane Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

the law is quite complex, it involves being able to see a certain distance behind the caravan in line with the side of the van:

There is a legal requirement for you to have mirrors that allow you to see clearly an area that is 4 metres wide from the side of your caravan at a distance 20 metres behind the driver. A caravan is significantly wider than a car even a large 4x4 and you simply can't comply with the law unless you fit towing mirrors.

I bought a cheap pair from Aldi. They're basically held on with big elastic bands and you can't really see much with them. They make me road legal though so I'm happy.

We have 2-camera rear view system on our Motorhome I wonder if they would work with a caravan. You get a clear picture as if looking out of the windscreen backwards!

I suppose as long as you can see the area in the picture then it should comply.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
