The Nicholas Cage remake was a pale and very poor adaptation of the original Toby Halicki version.

The REAL Eleanor is a 1972/3 yellow Mach 1. And it still exists, crumples, creases and wonky wheels and it still runs.

Watch it. And then decide. It was made with only one aim in mind. To be the best car chase film. No spare cars, no retakes, no fake acting. Real people with real cars in a real town made on a shoestring budget.
