We are looking to go to St Andrews for the October school week with our touring van and were planning to go to Kinkell Braes Site but having just read the on-line reviews I am now not so sure - they were not very complimentary....

Has anyone got any first hand experience ? or other recommendations ?

We were there earlier in the year visiting friends that had booked a private static.
The tourer pitches at the main building are very tight but I've heard there is pitches that are better further away near the water. The clubhouse wasn't the best and the food was average. Overall it's a good location if you don't use the clubhouse and can get a decent pitch

We where at cairnsmill with the van at the weekend to go to leuchars airshow fully serviced pitches and they also have a new swimming pool and bar.Never got to use the pool but the facilities looked immaculate. Next time we go to St. Andrews we will come back and use the facilities.
Also stayed at craigtoun meadows a few times if you go there get a larger pitch they come with a shed with table and chairs. Gone
