Hi all.

As per the above really....

When I bought my FF it had chrome mirror covers already fitted and, despite living in Cheshire, I don't really like them.

Ideally I'd like to go back to how they should be ie black / oem but I imagine that underneath the chrome covers is now marked with adhesive and / or scratches.

So, I'm thinking of replacing them with colour coded ones which I'm fine with - and have had a good quote for.

However, I've just been looking into removing the chrome ones and they are on REAL tight!

I can't seem to budge them at all and fear that if I keep aimlessly yanking at them that I may pull the whole wing mirror off completely and badly damage something!

I guess that they somehow are clipped on but there is adhesive in there too.

Is there a knack in removing these covers? Or does anyone have an idiots guide on how to do it please?....

try a hairdryer on them , hopefully the adhesive will soften enough for you to prise them off. ... - .- -.

I just got stuck into mine and levered them off with a couple of old flexible kitchen knives with patience they come off, underneath was practically un marked. Geoff

Probably held on with some silicone if they are very tight. I removed mine with a hairdryer and slid some strong fishing line under them in a sawing action cutting the 3m tape and silicone until it came out the other side.

Also a very handy method for removing a chrome window pillar kit and other unnecessary bling if you ever find yourself in such an unfortunate situation
