Stratstone Bury is an excellent garage run by strong, fair and knowledgeable senior managers and their Master Technicians are good guys who know these cars inside out and are enthusiastic about the marque.

Your post suggests that Strat Bury staff might not have seen the car yet and if they haven't (i.e if it's in transit/ 'coming soon'), then perhaps they deserve the opportunity of having a good look 'in the metal' too as they might have some views of their own on the current presentation of the car.

They are business/ profit people yes. They are also reasonable people and they do know what customer satisfaction is.

This might or might not be the car you're after and they might or might not be able to supply it as you would want it. All you can do is point out any misgivings you have, ask your questions and let them respond; and then decide whether or not to ask for your £500 deposit back or proceed to sale.

I wouldn't worry at all. It will sort itself out one way or another

One thing I will be taking with me will be a copy of the checklist you provided!! It will be fine I am sure as long as I don't let my heart rule my head. I have had a RR Vogue SE S/C 5 years ago, until it was stolen, and the insurance only covered a sport TDV8 replacement. loved them both and look forward to being back in the RR family

Even if you liked the exhaust etc , full fatters are a funny bunch ,
Seem to like original unmolested examples, even RRS alloys are not considered acceptable

Thanks for all the advice, I will go and see it and check it out. will be sceptical, but need valid reason to walk away and get my deposit back. So will be armed with the checklist and questions about aftermarket look etc. And will see how it goes, slowly slowly!
