2007 Xenon Reddish Glow

Gents,

I've noticed a reddish glow from my nearside (passenger-side) headlight this morning. Right headlight in the pic below and clearly seen in the reflection on the bumper.

I'm assuming it's a bulb on its way out, but any informed opinions before I jump to conclusions?

yes i would say its the bulb, swap it to the other side to see if its the bulb and rule out the ballast unit V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Has it always been like this if so might have aftermarket bulb fitted.
Not all bulbs give off the same light so best to change in pairs or go genuine ones

Exactly what Daveo suggests, should be a simple job and give you a definite answer.

It's only been like this since this morning and was perfectly fine before that. Si. <This is my name.

take this opportunity to get 2 6000k replacements bulbs [ebay about £30 for the pair] and keep the good one for spare. ... - .- -.

Would agree with Daveo on this one.

Still its a very odd type of problem, I wonder if anyone else has suffered this type of bulb failure?

I always understood that xenons change their colour output as they degrade with it being much more noticeable just before they fail. Tom

Suggest replacing your bulb before it fails completely - this is exactly the sympton I had (although on a BMW 3 series) and the eventual bulb failure damaged the ballast which then also needed replacing, £££.

I suggest 4300k as this colour temperature provides the greatest illumination. 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11

I ordered 2 x 6000k ones yesterday and should be getting them later.

What's the difference between those and the 4300k?

Sorry for the rather uninformed question. Embarassed Si. <This is my name.

4300k is more yellow than 6000k
5000k is the closest to white you can get but these are very hard to find..
6000k has a slight blue tinge to it and it is very very slightly less brighter...
i found because the 6000k light is whiter it 'looks' like the road is more illuminated than the 4300k ..

just put one 6000k in and you'll see the difference.. ... - .- -.
