Yes, back in the 70's at the HQ of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority at Risley, Warrington. They had 4 paternosters installed on a 5 storey (plus basement) block. What was good was to grab someones briefcase or bag when they had got off and chuck it into the 'up' paternoster!! They had to wait for ages for the correct unit to come past, then jump in and go round again!
