"RIDE ON" Tyre Sealant.

Just got an email from Arun Autogas - any views?

Ride on

............

Hi Gary,

Did you know AAG are approved installers of Ride-On tyre sealant?

We are pleased to be able to offer an installation of this excellent system at a cost of just £80 per vehicle. This is £50 below RRP.

Ride-On tyre sealant is a revolutionary puncture repair system designed to seal punctures permanently as they occur in the inner tread area of a pneumatic tyre. The seal will last until the end of the legal life of the tyre, saving you money, and alleviating the hazards and inconvenience associated with unexpected punctures.

How does Ride-On work?
Ride-On is installed into a tyre before a puncture occurs and will seal a puncture made by a penetrating object of up to 6mm diameter in on-road vehicles. It has been speed tested up to 150 m.p.h. and the seal is permanent and impervious to water.

Protect yourself with Ride-On.
Ride-On tyre sealant not only protects against the highly dangerous effects of high-speed punctures, but also prevents the hazardous situations forced on thousands of people every day when they fall victim to an unexpected puncture. Punctures can strike at any time, on a motorway, a busy main road, at night, in the rain and even miles from help.

Protect all your vehicles with Ride-On
Install Ride-On tyre sealant into all your vehicles now and have the peace of mind that if a puncture occurs in the inner tread area of a pneumatic tyre, it will be sealed immediately with no loss of pressure.

Ride-On will prevent the danger, inconvenience and cost associated with having a flat tyre. Furthermore, installing Ride-On will prevent
tyre oxidation and the almost undetectable invisible porosity leaks that cause deflation.

What to do now?
Phone now to arrange a date to have it installed. Prices cost from £80 per vehicle and it takes only 20 minutes to complete.
Installations on site can be arranged for multiple vehicles.

I hope that is of interest and I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards
Ian and the team at AAG

My wife was offered a similar product when she got her Honda Jazz a few years ago, which she took, but never had any reason to use it. When you replace the tyre you lose most of the "stuff" anyway.

I just wonder if it would effect the TPMS sensors, if fitted? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I was interested as:

1. Thought of wife & kids getting blow out on Motorway.
2. Dethleffs Motorhome does not have a spare wheel and we are often hundreds of miles away in Europe.

Ok, but why would you get this instead of runflats, which have the support of the manufactures?

Ok, but I'd want to know more about it technically rather than all the sales guff which reads a bit like 'tyre pixies will save you'.

Runflats need TMPS - you can only run them flat for around 50 miles after which the sidewalls are knackered

Also most places won't fix them if they do get a puncture just incase the sidewalls are knackered

So they are more expensive to buy, less comfortable (less flex) and can't be repaired.

Great system really Whistle

I've used some similar stuff for years - Slime I think it's called. Works perfectly - just bung it in the new tyres (through the valve stem after removing the valve), then pop the valve back in and pump up.

I had one tyre taken off (worn out) some years ago and there were 3 holes that had been fixed without me noticing.

I don't think its ever cost me as much as £80 to buy though!

I agree with Alistair on runflats. I would add that in my experience there is a higher incidence of punctures as the tread area is thinner to make up for the strengthened sidewalls. Proper tyre places won't fix them and new tyres are silly money. In the Middle East I would get them repaired in back street places for a couple of quid but I got fed up with them getting punctured so often and with the really stiff ride.

'Slime' gets good reviews but not sure on the impact on TPMS. 2012 5.0L S/C

just run a search on 'Ride-On tyre sealant' and most of the hits are related to motorbike tyres.

Designed for Motorbikes (Obvious reasons) but useful for cars too I guess....

I like the idea of lessening the chance of a fatal blow-out at 100 MPH....
