Misfire on TDV8

My car seems to have an occasional problem, on a gentle throttle between 1000-1500 revs around 25 mph the car sometimes seems to misfire, or hunt between gears. Garage can't fined anything - any ideas ?

I had something similar, which I thought was the torque converter as only apparent between 1500 - 2000 rpm on very light throttle (e.g. Cruising on the motorway and going up a slight incline)

Turned out to be a split in one of the turbo hoses (two big hoses at the top of the engine) - replaced both and all is fine again

Garage diagnosed it by doing a smoke test on the induction system 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!
