best colour for the rangie

Finally decided to bite the bullet and splurge out on a 2007 or 08 4.2 supercharged - hoping the discount on depreciation is enough to subsidise the fuel bills !! only one decision left and that's on colour.. Recognise this is an entirely subjective matter but any thoughts on the relative merits of Buckingham Blue or Java Black? Aiming for the interior to be ivory - have enough time to be patient on spec...

I have to say I've always been disappointed with Buckingham when seen in the flesh. At least Java is black and looks it. Ivory interior marks easily, just be aware! Discovery 4 HSE

I had two Buckingham Blue/Parchment and they are nice but its worth noting that Buckinham is being replaced with Baltic Blue in 2011.

I don't think you can go far wrong with the green colours though unless your planning on selling quickly.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE Td6 Buckingham Blue

Buying second-hand doesn't always guarantee your first choice colours unless you are very patient, but I don't think I would go for Buckingham Blue again. It looks pretty much like black in anything but the brightest sunshine and it shows absolutely every mark. I was once told by a bodyshop that the chemicals required to produce blue colours are inherently softer than other colours and therefore easier to mark and scratch. Don't know if that's true, but it certainly seems to be my experience with Buckingham.

For me I think it would be grey or perhaps green every time. Not sure about ivory seats with grey though!

have got and had a range of all the dark blues including Buckingham, metallic greys and greens on RR's, not keen on the greens TBH, favourites are metallic grey or perhaps silver. Hate reds / burgundy's definitely doesn't suit a RR imho.

I always liked Epsom green on Discoveries and Defenders, but not so sure on RR's

The darker colours are very easy to paint / colour match if you have a mishap... silvers, greys and light greens are troublesome, and you can end up with a load of different coloured pannels unless you spray the whole side of a car Crying or Very sad

I still can't believe they dropped Cairns Blue from the range. Hopefully the new Baltic blue will be brighter, because currently the only blue is Bukingham and it's almost black.

I like Cairns Blue as it's not too common, not black or silver (very popular) and still looks good.

I agree, Cairns is my favourite colour too, simply because it is quite rare, and looks lovely in sunlight.

Buckingham isn't as nice as the old Adriatic Blue IMO.

Java black with Ivory does look gorgeous though ... without tints Wink Java with Ivory 2006 4.2 Supercharged. 23.5k miles - NOW SOLD!

I thought exactly the same when I started the search for my car, I vowed I'd never have a green one, but the more I looked at it, the more I really liked it, and with mine having the Ivory interior, I think it looks one of the classiest colour combo's on a FF.

Never been 100% on silver though, just looks very boring IMO

I saw a couple of Burgundy ones in Sunderland today, an '04 plate with 22" wheels which looked quite nice and was for sale, then another one with 22" Stormer wheels but can't remember if that was for sale though, both within a mile of each other on the same stretch of road too. 2006 Mercedes CLS

But really finding it hard to fight the urge for a S/C...

England 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Tonga Green

Yep - Green is the colour I liked most when looking for my RR (2007MY Tonga with Ivory)- Had Bonatti before which was ok but never looked as good.

If I was to order from 2010 colour range then I think Nara Bronze would be 1st choice, then Galway Green...

...but after my current RR, I am never going to have another with a light coloured interior!

Question I think I said that last time Whistle

Ipanema Sand

Currently running FFRR MY10 TDV8 3.6L and a Disco 3 XS Commercial (tank like but very effective as a Company van). Plus one mint condition Track Day Car in the form of an E36 M3 3.2L Evolution circa June 1996 with lots of go faster bits and only 52k miles on the clock! Oh, plus a few bits to make it slow down really quickly as well! Luvverly.
