F*****g thing won't start!!

I was out in my car tonight, went to Sainsburys, got some shopping, all fine and normal, get back in started it, it fired up then immediately cut out, tried to start again, the headlights came on while turning key, no attempt to crank, I got the Air Suspension inactive thing come up too, the car looks like it has power, Nav still comes on, steering coloumn moves etc, as soon as I try and crank it, I get the headlights coming on for a few seconds while trying and nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas?, I called the AA but there was a 2 Hour wait and I was only a few Miles from my house so I got a lift home and will deal with it tomorrow.

I will give that a try tomorrow, Battery is ok I think, although sometimes I get HDC inactive on first start in the mornings so maybe it's on its way out.

I think you're right . HDC message is what mine did regularly.
For sake of £98 for the uprated varta one was a no brainer.

Not seen message since Thumbs Up Alcohol and eBay is never a good mix

What's the best course of action?, call AA booster pack, the put a new battery in?, it's doing some very odd things electrically so would assume it cold be the battery actually knowing what FFRRS are like!!.

Well it turns out it was a bad connection to the Earth on the Battery, battery is fine, car is running fine now, quite a relief, I might still get a new battery although mine is only from 2012 apparently so I will wait and see if I get another HDC inactive in the morning first.

AA man was wondering why it wasn't cranking even with booster power so ran a tester on it, turns out the Negative terminal had some play but it looked like it was fully done up, un did it and re connected it properly and all seems well, the car cranked really well from cold under its own steam without any booster.
I will be keeping an eye on it though, first sign of an HDC inactive message in the morning and I'm getting another battery.
Only bad point is the CD Nav now keeps spitting the disc out, something of a common electrical gremlin so I gather?.
