TD6 not starting

Hard to pin down. but beginning to notice a trend...

After car has been stopped for a few moments on the first turn of the key it will crank, but not start. Release and try again = instant start.

Rear fuel pump just been replaced.

Any ideas?

Possibly air getting into the fuel lines or blocked fuel filter

hmmm. Sounds like a trip to a garage. again.

What I don't understand is why it catches immediately on the 2nd crank,
