I'm guessing the landing speed of a big old jet like that is probably over 150kt….I wouldn't mind a Nissan truck that could do 175mph!

Canada 2008 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Java Black

Just did a little googling. The Nissan Fontera truck (US spec) is governed to 110 mph. If modified to allow full speed, one user reports 124mph. Standard approach speed for a B727 was quoted on one site at 130-150 knots depending on weight. Boeing lists the approach speed for the -100 at 124 kn and the -200 at 136 kn. Therefore, a Fontera can get in the way, be too slow and cause a much more serious crash than a standard 'gear up' landing. It also mentioned that no US airlines currently use the 727 for passenger service.

I did read a number of years ago of a small private plane trying to land with one gear leg refusing to lock in the down position. An aircraft mechanic when out on the field with another pilot in his new Audi cabriolet. They were able, after a few tries, to get beneath the small plane, tug on the undercarriage, and get it locked so the plane could land safely. We are NOT talking a jet! We are talking a small private propeller plane that can fly at, or just above regular US highway speeds.

Great video though!
