How to connect a solar charging panel to a MY11?

I'm leaving my MY11 TDV8 at the airport for 30 days in Aug. I've only left it for 15-16 days previously and it started fine. I have a solar charging panel that I used with a MY07 RR that had a permanent live socket in the boot. I can't locate a permanent live socket on the MY11. Other than connecting direct to the battery and pulling a wire through the bulk head, is there another (simple) option for connecting the solar panel charge the battery while I'm away? MY23 D350 HSE

There will be a permanent live in the boot for sure. Connect to that and leave on the parcel tray.

The 12v socket(s) in the boot are not permanently live on the MY11, they turn off after a few seconds of the ignition.

Where else can I connect to that is permanently live? I am a novice when it comes to RR electrics although I can use a volt/multi meter. MY23 D350 HSE

The fusebox in the driver's side rear has a large red cable which is live all the time. Picture 5 in Joe90's thread about the 2nd battery shows it. Top of the picture in the middle, red cable.

Basically it's the main front->rear power cable for the car. Thread is here.

I assume your solar charger has a accessory plug on it?
If so what you need to do is buy one of these below, cut off the crocodile clips, connect the red wire to a "piggy back fuse connector and plug into a spare fuse in the rear fuseboard, most of the spares will probably be live all the time.
The back wire you connect to an earth point adjacent to the rear fuseboard, most bolts will suffice.
Once connected you have a permanently live accessory socket in the boot area to plug your solar charger into. Thumbs Up

Thanks guys. Just what I needed. Will have a dig around in the boot this evening.

I think the solar charger cam with a 12v socket and croc clip connector options. MY23 D350 HSE
