dont waste your money, i had my td6 done and it didnt do anything...you'd be better off putting an egr blanking kit on..

Not my experience. The ones I've driven are much better.

Who doesn't want another 50bhp and 100 torques ?

Much safer overtaking and less revs needed for a given situation. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

With over 100K on the clock wouldn't it be a big NEW strain on the engine Question

I had an RRS Sport TDV8 for 6 months, remapped it when I bought it then prayed every time I pressed the loud pedal Very Happy Got rid of it as it was Censored , my TD6 will stay as intended Thumbs Up

I see where you are coming from, but the gearbox issues are not torque related, and I understand there are less turbo issues after remap - though I did read that on a BMW forum, and can't remember which one. Something to do with the way it spools up.

It's not a massive tune, only turns it into an x5.

That said, it's bound to change the loading on the engine, but if you are getting much more torque lower down the rev range, you do not have to rev it so much.

Who knows - had my disco td5 tuned by td5 alive and it changed it for the better. Would not have kept it as long otherwise. Never missed a beat in nearly 5 years, but then I didn't drive it like I stole it and serviced it regularly..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I'm the same I've had nearly all my cars chipped. TD5, TDV6 disco and both RRS's but that was when they where new or nearly new. I didn't get my last one chipped as i was afraid of a 5K bill for turbo's.
Unless you are prepared for the worst to happen leave it as it is save some money and buy a TDV8

Yes, also a valid route to a quicker more driveable Ffrr. Especially as the tdv8's are getting cheaper now.

Think it may be best to leave them standard, as I understand they have some turbo issues later in life, poss caused by oil starvation. But the gearbox is more reliable than the one in the td6.

Yes it is worth it depending on who's map it is. The TD6 is a very under stressed engine and BMW even did their own power upgrade. I had a td6 from new several years ago and put over 80k miles on it with absolutely no issues at all. I went with a JE Map after thorough research and also looked at DMS, Autologic, Overginch etc.

The performance difference was astounding and almost put it into V8 territory - 60 in under 10 seconds and mpg up from 23 to 27. There are several threads on here. Adam RRUK also had 2 of his vehicles done by JE.

For the doubters who had bad results or no improvement in performance, IMHO these vehicles had already been mapped so there were no gains to be had Thumbs Up

If its a std vehicle do it!

That said I would not do my 4.4 V8 diesel as the power & torque from these is immense from std

As Stan says I would do the EGR blanking thing, seems to work for everyone, the TD6 is what it is, if you want an X5 then buy one, IMHO Very Happy

I have had my td6 remapped after about a month of owning it with 90k on the clock. I am very happy with the results more power, better mpg and it does not change down quite so quick when going under load. As it has been stated they are very under tuned in the ffrr.
