Dantheman needs help and he can not access the forum.

He has a touch screen that has frozen on nthe LR logo and the red light on the left above the on / off button is flashing.

Battery disco for 10 mins has not done anything.


Any techies out there any ideas?

The infotainment system is likely stuck in a continuous "reboot" cycle because of a loss of communication between HLDF (high line display front - the touchscreen) and MOST system.

Since the reboot doesn't complete, the Land Rover logo sticks around and everything freezes.

Pulling the fuse may fix it if it's just a one-time instance, but if this reoccurs the dealer can probably fix it for good by reconfiguring HLDF and IHU software.

Or take out the Sat Nav disc and reboot from there ..... ====================================

I had this at the weekend and it turns out to be exactly as Mick has just described but in my case when I dismantled all the A/V stuff in the back to fit my new T/V module I simply missed out one power leads and the system froze . What I'm saying is , is it simply a loose power connection in the back ? 2008 MY Supercharged

Very similar circumstances to you: however had a thorough hand/eye check and all seems secure. I'll have another dig about in the morning and with a fresh pair of eyes on. Hopefully something as simple - however also had the problem briefly a little while ago which rectified itself...

I'll keep you informed of any progress.

Update: problem solved!

Initially thinking I'd left something disconnected and being unable to spot/rectify I put the car into a local LR service centre who came highly recommended by a car audio centre here in Newcastle.

Took a fair bit of head scratching by a couple of technicians, but finally diagnosed a faulty loom connector which was showing a higher than permitted resistance. Replaced and all seemed well until another wiring fault was diagnosed, causing the same problem.

Got the motor back today, the guys did a good job - and for a very reasonable price! Would certainly use them again.
