What choices are out there for the 2004 4.4 V8 Range Rover engine?

Where's the best place to buy it?

I'm sure I used a Castrol product last year.

Hi sorry for hijacking the thread but I am also about to have my oil changed....was going for cast roll magnates or mobile 1 but how much does the range rover take for a full oil change ....... Is 5 litres enough of do I need to get 2 cans? Current Cars:
2005 FF Range Rover Vogue
S2 Lotus Elise
Rover Mini Cooper

Not sure what the best oil for the Petrol engines is but someone will be along soon to let you know.

You will need just over 9 litres so don't try and stick in one 5 litre can thinking it will be enough. Do be careful if you buy Castrol oils as they are usually 4 litre cans

Magnatec is old technology for older engines, you are better with Castrol Edge

I've ordered Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 Fully Synthetic... hopefully this will be ok!?

It was practically half the price of Castrol Edge that I used last year.

i use castrol magnatec oil 5w30 have done for a while  V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

When I did my 4.4 I used full synthetic 5W-40 I think and, as 47p2 says, you'll need 8.5- 9 litres for an oil & filter change.
