England 2010 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Zermatt Silver
Range rover magazine

There's a distinct lack of printed material for the range rover. Of all the lr magazines, land rover owner international is probably the best and even they only have a L322 article every few months.

They're all very defender/ series biased to maximize circulation. Surely there must be a market for a dedicated rr magazine. The models been around long enough now to have a huge following and with the addition if the rrs, now has a dedicated modifications/ customising following (we all know how they like to glue crap to their cars!). .

When you look at some of the niche crap on the shelves in wh smiths, I find it hard to believe that RR doesn't have a place there......... Crying or Very sad

I found LRO anti-Range Rover.

Last time I bought one was a review of a second hand Td6 on sale, where they said nobody needs this level of luxury (only RR thing in the mag) and earlier there was a thing on the Disco3, where they had printed a section saying "Range Rover, no ta" Which was a pretty pathetic attempt of a guy saying he was thinking of buying a RR after his Disco2, but much prefered the Disco3 so he bought a high milage one. WTF? More like you couldn't afford a decent one mate and so had to buy a high miler D3. Rolling Eyes

Rant over. LRO, no ta. Wink

Do the RRR (Range Rover Register) do a club mag?
That may be an option of they do, although I guess the frequency will be less at three or four a year probably.

The Camel Trophy owners club mag I get is good. Very Happy

It's probably more to do with the perceived potential audience I imagine. The RR conjours up more of an image of Country Gent / City Slicker than it does of mud-plugging enthusiast or farm hand that you get from Defeaners or Discos.

Is this is the case then the market is reduced as would be the potential sales of such a mag.

Evidence of this would be to compare the number of members here on FFRR with that of the Disco3 forum. Same site owner, same format, probably similar number of cars sold etc but less percentage of owners interested in anything except driving it.

Look at off road days etc. How many cars as a percentage of overall cars there are FFRR series 3? Not a lot. Mostly discos and deafeners. The odd RR lite as well.

Then take stuff like accessories available - camping for example. Camping??? Did you say "camping" ??? What, with my nice Range Rover?? Not on your nelly. Now, where's the nearest 5 star hotel?? Stereotypes yes, but reasonably accurate in the overall scheme of things.

Dom

yes I had that impression too, probably something to do with them being Censored because they can't afford a RR and think we are all rolling in dosh.

The only exception is the RR section on the LRO forum which is ok if you own a Classic, don't mention that you own an L322 or heaven forbid a Sporty, or you will be classed as the devil incarnate Shocked

even worse on the LRO disco forum - somebody once suggested that only Pikey's drive disco's - some of the contributers went mad - absolutely no sense of pikey humour.

Whata crock! That's amongst the most stupid things I've ever heard!

Hmmm - either jealous bastids or they're so used to the SIII rattling, freezing, and being launched off the seat at every pothole and bouncing through the car like a ping pong ball that driving a RR is beyond comprehension.

What started my RR sillyness was exactly that - the luxury. I take my RR's off road - but often I have to drive for hours to get to where I am off-roading. There are numerous good off road vehicles (do not want to start a discussion here) and lots of wonderful to drive cars. There is only one vehicle that is at the top of both categories at the same time. After driving on road for hours I can get out of the car and I am as relaxed as when I left home. And sitting in a climatized, leathered, opulent interior while traversing ridiculously rugged terrain is - well, remarkable.

Too much luxury. Morons. Schmucks.

Sorry for the rant.

Edit - somebody edited my 'maroons' to 'morons'. Am I the only one who watched Bugs Bunny as a kid? (I'm actually pretty good at spelling. The 'bastids' up top was on purpose too. Razz )
RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr,

(wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too)

Yes the RRR does have a bi-monthly magazine and there are some L322 articles.

Being a member mag it does rely on members writing the articles.

It also has a forum with a L322 section.

I went through a big stack of LROI's (about 30) in the loft and could only find 3 with L322 articles. Censored poor really.....
