Steering Angle Sensor Reset?

I have just had the battery off my VSE for 5 days whilst I replaced the Alternator. All back up and running now.

When I put the battery back on and fired it up I didn't need to reset the steering angle sensor (or any of the windows), no errors or bongs from the dashboard, it all just worked? Is the SAS reset only for pre 2007 cars. 56 TDV8 Vogue SE
