Just locking on to the post and observing that yes, I would always have the factory jack on a prestige car like this but I would also endorse having a sound/ secondary alternative

Factually correct; the OP is asking for details of a replacement scissor jack but there are helpful suggestions here to consider the bottle jack option as an alternative and / or addition.

I have personally seen a FF teetering on a factory scissor jack. Scary is not the word!! It can only be described as a potentially very nasty accident waiting to happen. I really don't understand how LR got away with it.....

So I for one want an additional jack (of the bottle variety) but I'm still a bit unclear how the separate BMW adapter fits. 2006 4.2 SC

Not intending to go off topic but the thread raises important associated safety issues due to some people having concerns about the fitness for purpose of the factory jack:

On the Mercedes Sprinter bottle jack, the part of that jack that comes into contact with the Mercedes it was designed to jack up can be crudely described as being shaped similar to a 2 horn Viking helmet. That piece of the jack is secured to the jacking shaft by means if a metal pin. The pin can be easily knocked out with a hammer and punch and the "Viking helmet" can then be lifted off of the shaft, leaving just the cylindrical jacking shaft. You can then, as one example of safely modifying the Sprinter jack for use on the L322, get a BMW jack adaptor and have a hole drilled into the base of that BMW adaptor so that the Sprinter jacking shaft will fit perfectly into the drilled hole... And then you have an L322 modified [Mercedes Sprinter] bottle jack.
