Your diagnosis invited !! My misfire started 500 miles ago. 4.4 2003



Pic shows what comes up on the code reader every couple of days. Plugs have only done 7,000 miles , coils have been swopped from one side to the other but misfire stays on 1-4. New manifold gaskets installed last week along with every crank case breather pipe . O2 sensor one was replaced 3 months ago.

Thats one to look at but not happy that a £60 part has lasted less than 4 moths.

Get a branded sensor, mine had an unbranded one in when I got it, looked fairly new but was faulty, changed it for a Bosch one and been fine since.... Pete

Turn the solus on to o2 readings and see if the voltage is switching on the sensor- its probably stuck telling the ecu to give it loads of fuel hence the misfires.

It probably runs ok at certain loads/ speeds as the o2 goes into open loop mode therefore nor requiring the sensor. 5.0 supercharged autobiography

Not getting too excited but have had the new oxygen sensor on for two days and not experienced a misfire yet. New one is a Bosch which I got for £58 from Euro Car Parts
