lowering suspension

i lowered mine by 15mm and didnt really find any difference to the way it drove except for noticing the bumps a little more, anyone found any real benefit in doing this..

shame the facelift cant cope with individual height settings, i love to just do the access and not a blanket adjustment..

Mine is lower than standard rides fine and far better round corners than D1 or my 90 Laughing but sadly cant tell you the difference from normal standard height settings on the Full Fats on the road though.
I can change the settings individual Stan Whistle Mr. Green Mr. Green If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

Same thoughts here Stan..Drives the same but bumps are slightly more "bumpy"

Got the Gap EAS tool and took the front down as far as possible, but it seems that due to the LR parameters you cant go down as low as I wanted (was looking for a 30mm gap from tyre top to arch bottom front and rear).

Weirdly, the rear can be lowered further than the front, so the car can be made to sit lower at the rear than the front which is a bit odd looking, so once I got the front down, then set the rear to sit level.

Seems the only way around this is to fit new sensor link bars on the front, then set it low with these then use the tool to set the rear to level off overall.

Its a pity the setting is universal as you say. Would have been nice to set the access height, normal and off road levels independently, as lowering the overall setting has left the off road height subsequently lower than factory. GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

mr Dragon, you're lucky to be able to do that but alas i cant..i do know that this s/c does handle much better than the td6 i had before ...

@Paul, so is yours back to normal now or still at the new settings....as for being level , all the factory heights are higher by 10mm on the front maybe something to do with the ride?

@Trommel, i have nothing to say Mr. Green

Stan...just had a check using the EAS tool and currently the front in set to 0mm (ie as low as the tool will allow it to drop down to in Standard (normal mode). Obviously it does drop down lower for access mode, but these images show the normal mode which IMHO looks like its still riding too high (like I think most FFRR do anyway)

Currently=
75-80mm gap from tyre top to arch
473mm from arch to wheel centre.

I set the rear to ride 10mm lower than the front to keep the line looking right, but the rear will drop another 30mm with ease so going to get a set of air-matic links once the new 22" rims are fitted later this week. By the way, I am not looking to make my FF look like a low rider, but do think the Factory standard height looks too high aesthetically Thumbs Up

Looks like it....In theory the lower COG will improve the handling, but given that my most energetic drive of the day is the school run, i've not tested that yet Mr. Green GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

i'm just wondering if my s/c setup is different to your tdv8 in respect it might be stiffer already.... i'm an old git driver so i dont think having it lower will benefit me, but the access height being lower would..

Yes. Would have though the SC would have a stiffer set up as it's handling more grunt than my humble TDV8, I'm sure somebody on here will know the technicals on that

Not sure if it's true, but sure I heard someone say that if the ride is dropped too low, when the susp hits the bump stops it will rise automatically as a safety default? Any ideas?

You're only as old as the woman you feel Stan Mr. Green

I've lowered the access height on mine to -70mm but haven't touched the standard height yet.

Does access take off from the standard height? On other words, if I lower the standard height, will it then still drop 70mm off the new setting making it go down even lower?

stan , mine is an autobio supercharge too, lowered to 16mm, played with all the settings from 15 to 20, seems 16 is the least height before u think your in a CRV or RAV 4, that been said, the car handles exceptionally well in corners now and feels more planted on the road when u push it. yes u do feel the bumps a lil more but just a lil more 2012 Range Rover Autobiography - Faultmate MSV2 Extreme - IID Tool
