France 2006 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Java Black

T24 Now that you have all the gear and some idea, you'll be bitten by the detailing OCD bug.
Bear with me ... I'll persuade you why it's worth the time and effort.

Just for your info 5 months ago I corrected the paintwork on my Java black Rangie using the same kit you have.
I de tarred it, Iron X'd it, clayed it and then removed the swirl marks. I then put a layer of Poorboys blackhole glaze on it followed by a coat of Poorboys Natty's blue paste wax and topped that off with two coats of FK1000P wax. The car looked Censored fantastic. The car was then driven to Sicily where 5 days out of 7 it parked on the car park of an oil refinery and in the evening parked along a sea wall. It was subject to nearly 5 months of salt spray, some form of dust fall out from the refinery and everyday the sun baked the bodywork. Washing the car was possible only by throwing buckets of water over whenever the opportunity presented itself; no soap, no wash mitt.

I'm back home for a couple of months now and I've washed the car using a citrus pre wash, snow foam, two bucket wash mitt method and large microfiber towels used to dry it. The paintwork has come up lovely no doubt due to the prep prior to putting on two coats of a decent wax (FK1000P or similar).
The wheels were given a quick spray of Iron x and they came up great.
Here are some before and after photos ... Just the wheel arches to do now Travelling around in circles again.

England 2010 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Atacama Sand

Best thing I use on my wheels is the Bilt Hammer KORROSAL, this removed the dreaded spots you talk about and it is good for lower body panels. Bought mine from Ultimate Finish Brands Hatch, I think it's about £10.00 per bottle, but does go a long way, also this cold weather does slow reaction times down considerably so don't rush washing off too soon. 2010 Ipanema Sand/ivory
