Airbag SRS warning light on dash

I've had my RRSC for 2 weeks now and it's been great. After a few days of it being mine the airbag warning appeared for a few seconds then went off. This continued for a few days where it would come and go. Then it changed and is on all the time. It flicks off momentarily as you turn on the engine as it does a self test in the system but comes back and now stays on permanently. I assumed it was to do with my kids kneeling on the front passenger seat and assumed it was the occupancy sensor that had been damaged. Today I took the car to my local trusted independent who hooked up his SnapOn diagnostic machine and checked for fault codes. This is where it gets strange.

The machine quite happily read the ECUs for everything in the car but threw up a "failed to communicate" message when scanning the airbag ecu.

Is it most likely the airbag ecu module is goosed and that's why it doesn't respond or is it possible that the snap on diagnostic machine isn't fully compatible ?
I don't know the specific model of the machine before anyone asks 😫

Fuse checked in glovebox and is ok.
Wiring under both front seats is all plugged in securely and nothing looks out of place.

Anyone with any suggestions ?
TIA

Check for puled connectors and chafed wires under each front seat , not uncommon for wires to get damaged for the airbag in the seat themselves . 2008 MY Supercharged

I have had a look under both front seats.
My concern is the lack of communication with the airbag ecu ?
Do replacement modules require coding to the car with the VIN like BMWs do ?

the snap on machine might not be able to talk to the airbag ecu for some reason, can you find someone with an iidtool that can confirm or not that the ecu is at fault..

i would think that the occupancy sensor is goosed [as mine was] and replacing it will solve your problem.. ... - .- -.
