Rear brake calliper sticking

Very interesting to read the numerous threads on this as I have been getting three symptoms of something amiss.

1. Funny smell around rear offside corner after journeys.

2. Squeezing from rear grades on reversing.

3. Wheel vibration.

4. Hot hub on rear offside corner.

I took the rear offside wheel off today and first checked the handbrake by backing it off completely. This made no difference to the rest on the disk.

I then stuck a prybar between the pad and the disk and levered the pad away from the disk. This freed the wheel up immediately. I also noticed the pads were heavily worn and that much of the paint from the discs hub had burnt off.

A quick test drive to get up to speed without using the foot brake and no sign of e wheel vibration

Looks like the well reported sticking calliper problem as all the hoses have already been replaced so not flow return problem. Will replace both rears next weekend. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4
