Non starter

I went to our local RC helicopter club on Sunday and when I came to leave after 5 hours the ffrr was dead! When the battery was checked, it read 4.8 v. The battery was fully charged and in good condition when I arrived, I have parked the car for a similar length of time many times without a problem but this time I left the key in the ignition which I have not done before. Has anyone heard of this happening before? We jump started the car and I put it on the ctec when I got home and it has been fine today.

There must be a fair current draw to flatten a battery in 5 hours! Won't do that again.

Amongst other things, it will be energising the relay that releases the steering lock when the keys are inserted.

Leaving key in ignition is very bad for battery drain.
