How to get ipod connectivity on 2004 vogue?

Hi guys I'm interested in getting ipod connectivity either instead of the 6 cd changer or in addition to it - does anyone know how to go about it and what kit I need to buy? I gather the stereo system in my car is actually a BMW product?

I would want a system whereby I can see song names on the stereo head unit rather than just saying song 1,2 etc

Thanks in advance for any help. 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 LPG, Java Black, 22' Hawke Alloys, Black Beast

Search on here for 'Intravee' - I and many others have fitted them to our cars and they are the best route IMHO

Or Baris on here does an upgrade to the bm54 amp in the boot to add a lead to connect your iPod to.......

Long enough to run to the front of the car. Much easier, but less functionality obviously. You could have the stage 2 amp upgrade also, which is well loud - I mean really loud, even with the stock speakers.

You can also fit a later BMW cd changer which will display the track names etc, but from an mp3 cd, which the standard units won't read.

Not exactly what you asked, but you do have options.....

Hi thanks for the advice, the current cd changer is not ejecting the cartridge and is faulty (was like that when I bought the car). I like the sound of a BMW cd changer that can play mp3 music CDs as it's possible to get so many more songs on a mp3 disc.

Can you maybe sent me the BMW cd changer model number or a link to where I can get one from - I'm guessing it's not a hard job to change the cd changer from old one to new? 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 LPG, Java Black, 22' Hawke Alloys, Black Beast

Not sure of part numbers, as not done it myself.

There is info here about it ;

http://www.roverupgrades.com/Range_Rover_MP3_Cd_Changer.html

You will need a unit from a later BMW.

There is one on the bay of e here, but its abroad.

Will give you part number though....

Sure there will be more than 1 part number.

Can you not get yours going by gently "hitting" the magazine with the handle of a screwdriver whilst pressing the eject button ? seems to work for others on here. Have a search.....

Hi hitting the cartridge whilst pressing eject worked! The cartridge popped out with 6 of the previous owners cd's ranging from Michael Jackson's greatest hits to groove armada's album.

Gave the cartridge a good clean and popped new CDs in and they all play and the cartridge ejects ok from the 3 or 4 times I tested it so touch wood that's fixed and one less thing to worry about!

If only more things in life could be fixed with a good whack with a screwdriver lol 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 v8 LPG, Java Black, 22' Hawke Alloys, Black Beast

All tried and tested fixes on this forum my friend Laughing

Never had the issue myself, but worked for plenty of others on here.

Pleased you can have some tunes in the car now.
